About the Role
The Software Engineer/.NET Developer will contribute to developing, designing, and maintaining software applications supporting mission-critical systems. This role is a key part of KTIS’s collaborative engineering team, providing solutions for government clients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coding, analyzing user needs, and providing technical support to enhance system functionality.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain software applications to improve system performance and availability.
- Analyze user needs and requirements to create feasible solutions for new and existing applications.
- Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver software solutions.
- Provide coding expertise in .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET, etc.) and database management.
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and integrate secure application functionality in compliance with cybersecurity standards.
- Work with teams to develop and enforce industry best practices for software systems and ensure adherence to security and performance standards.
- Support software testing, validation procedures, and documentation, contributing to project milestones and success.
- Assist in system standardization and consistent deployment via CI/CD pipelines.
- Create software for error handling, logging, and debugging to ensure seamless system integration.
Required Skills
- Active Secret Clearance and Security+ CE Certification or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET, and related frameworks).
- Experience with SQL databases and relational database management.
- Proficient in Agile development methodologies and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design and principles.
- Experience with security protocols including SSL/TLS, Kerberos, and encryption methods.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the ability to troubleshoot complex software issues.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD processes, and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible).
- Knowledge of cloud environments (preferably AWS, Azure).
- Solid understanding of network security and application security best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Navy security standards for application and data protection.
- Previous work experience in federal government DevSecOps projects.
- Expertise in Agile/Scrum development and collaboration.
- Familiarity with Alvaria Workforce Management (eWFM) or similar workforce management tools.
- Knowledge of Python, Perl, or shell scripting for automation tasks.
