The Bureau of IT Application and Platform Engineering is seeking a skilled Solution Architect to join the team. We focus on delivering tailored software solutions and database management services that support the agency’s strategic objectives and public health mission.
Position Overview:
This role involves designing, developing, and deploying scalable .NET applications that support the agency’s financial operations. The Solution Architect will collaborate closely with financial analysts, project managers, and developers to deliver high-quality solutions that adapt to the agency’s changing needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Work with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements and translate them into technical plans.

Design and develop software using C# and the .NET framework, ensuring clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.

Test and debug applications to ensure they function smoothly. Participate in code reviews to maintain quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in computer science and at least 3 years of progressive IT experience, including 18 months in a managerial or supervisory role; OR
-
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant IT experience with at least 18 months in a leadership role; OR
-
High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of progressive IT experience including 18 months of leadership; OR
-
Equivalent combination of education and experience (minimum high school diploma and 3 years IT experience including 18 months supervisory).
Note: Undergraduate credits may substitute for up to 2 years of experience, and graduate credits may substitute for 1 year, but cannot replace the 18 months of leadership experience.
Preferred Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience as a .NET Developer with strong C# and .NET framework skills.

Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns.

Experience with ASP.NET, MVC, and Web API for web application development.

Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.

Experience with SQL Server and complex database queries.

Knowledge of version control tools, preferably Git.

Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills.
